Basement Waterproofing Service Areas Around St. Louis, MO

Requests are welcome from across St. Louis, MO and from St. Louis County, where five cities have pages of their own. Each request goes to one independent local contractor, who visits and writes an estimate; this referral service does no basement work itself.

Serving St. Louis and Nearby Towns

The City of St. Louis is an independent city, in no county. Requests come from North City, South City and everywhere between, from Carondelet in the far south to Shaw. Inside the City, contractors need a business license from the License Collector, and the Building Division handles permits.

St. Louis County is a separate government with about 90 municipalities, each with its own building office and often its own contractor license or registration. None of them is part of the City, and City licensing doesn't apply there. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District serves the City and almost all of the County, and its 24-hour line for sewer backups is (314) 768-6260.

  • University City, MO. About 8 miles west of downtown, home to the Delmar Loop and a City Hall in E.G. Lewis's 1903 Magazine Building. About 38% of its homes predate 1940, the most of the five, and the River des Peres runs through town.
  • Webster Groves, MO. About 10 miles southwest, formed in 1896 from five railroad communities and home to Webster University. Deer Creek flooded homes on North Forest and Pacific Avenues twice in July 2022, and contractors must register with the city.
  • Kirkwood, MO. About 14 miles west-southwest, platted in 1852 as the first planned suburb west of the Mississippi. Kirkwood Station still serves Amtrak, the city runs its own water and electric utilities, and every contractor needs a Kirkwood business license.
  • Florissant, MO. About 16 miles north-northwest in North County, a French colonial village with a historic Old Town. Roughly 18,000 houses went up there between 1947 and 1980, and its home values are the lowest of the five.
  • Chesterfield, MO. About 25 miles west in West County, incorporated in 1988 and home to the newest houses of the five. A job starts with a city zoning approval, and St. Louis County then issues the permit.

The City's Sewer Lateral Repair Program covers City homes only; each County city above runs a lateral program of its own.

Ask About Your Address

Close to one of these cities without living in it? Nearby places such as Clayton, Brentwood, Maplewood, Rock Hill, Des Peres, Hazelwood and Ballwin don't have pages here. Try the area check above, or put your address in the form, and you'll get a plain answer about whether a contractor can help.

If one can, that contractor contacts you directly to set a time and later leaves a written estimate. Contractors may pay this site to advertise, but sending a request is free, and nothing is offered to you for making it.
